DOMINIK SWALSKI,

Head of Operations

Dominik is an experienced flight instructor who is passionate about pilot education. He enjoys acrobatic flying, as well as long distance flying.

He’s a busy father of six, but when he’s not in the air he spends his time working on classic cars and cooking – in particular delicious American style BBQ. He is also enjoys spending time outdoors whether it’s cycling, swimming or taking the dogs out for a walk. 

Dominik enjoys helping his students succeed and watching them experience the joy and excitement of flying.

DOMINIK SWALSKI,

JOHN BARKER (JB), Grade 1 IFR Instructor

John is one of the most well-known and respected flight instructors in the Perth region and is highly experienced, with in excess of 12,000 hours of operational experience in charter, aerial work and training operations.   

John has experience in a wide range of aircraft from tailwheel bush planes to the 19-seat turbine-powered pressurised SA227 Metroliner and has held the role of chief pilot/chief instructor in no less than 6 Western Australian aviation companies.  

When not training students or scuba diving (his other passion) or he is often called upon to conduct test flights for experimental homebuilt aircraft.  

John’s greatest strength is his ability to engage with students individual learning styles to overcome challenges and achieve the most from their flight training time.  

ANDREW MUSCA-UNGER, Flight Instructor – Grade 1

Andrew has loved flying and aviation as far back as he can remember – he tells everyone he meets he has avgas in his blood! His first solo was in a glider over Northam at the age of 15.

Andrew has over 40 years’ experience in aviation with more than 3000 hours of flight experience and he’s helped train hundreds of students from novice through to commercial pilot licence.

He’s been involved with gliding, glider towing, sky dive flying, charter flying and flight instruction. His personal interests include a love of motorbikes, animal welfare and flying his wife to nice places for weekend day trips.

“I love flying, of course, but I want my legacy to be that I have helped to make our skies safer. I want to help students build rock-solid foundations for the start of their flying careers.”

BETH STACEY, Flight Instructor – Grade 3

Beth is a versatile and skilled flight instructor with a rich and diverse background. She earned her Commercial Pilot License in 2013, quickly followed by a Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating, Instructor Rating, Aerobatics rating, and tailwheel endorsement. After this, she worked as an instructor and charter pilot in New South Wales.

Her teaching journey began overseas, where she taught English in Thailand and Vietnam, inspiring her to earn a Master of Education from CQU. Currently instructing at Melville Senior High School, Beth integrates her Bachelor of Aviation with practical flight experience, and she is qualified to teach theory up to the Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL) level.

Outside of Aviation, she also plays the cello in the Joondalup Symphony Orchestra and enjoys distance running and surfing. Her teaching fosters a supportive and dynamic learning environment, emphasising safety, precision, and continuous learning, ensuring her students receive comprehensive and engaging instruction tailored to their individual needs.

CHARLES KOLAR, Flight Instructor – Grade 1

Charles started his flying career at 13 as a weight offset for his dad’s homemade hand glider. At 15, he became Czechoslovakia’s youngest pilot to fly a hand glider solo.

Moving to Australia in his early 20s, Charles pursued a career in commercial flying then worked his way up to become an instructor while rated in night VFR, Aerobatics, Tail Dragging, Twins and IFR.

He’s flown around Europe, the Alps, and most of Australia privately as well as commercially while working in charter, tours, ferrying aircraft, air photography, banner towing, parachute drops, aerial work and glider towing.

When he’s not in the air, he’s in the ocean enjoying his passion for water sports as an experienced wind surfer and scuba diver. He’s often in the water teaching others how to swim and snorkel – his dedication to teaching carries over into every aspect of his life!
